I was out at a client's site this week and I came across the most bizarre/amusing bit of consumer product.
I flew in on a morning flight and the cold bagel they supplied from the flight wasn't that enticing. So once I got to the client's office, I went to their little snack shop (or otherwise what we know as a tuck shop). I was looking for something other than the sugared-up breakfast bars, the mountain of crisps (yes, that’s chips) and or other variant of chocolate biscuits, etc.
At the back of the shop, there was this tree-like rack with tall plastic cups on display. On closer inspection, it is actually cereal in a cup, with the title of "Drink n' Crunch", made by Kellogs no less. I decided to give this thing a go.
There were instructions on the top of the cup as to how to consume the product (Oh yes, it requires assembling).
1. Shake 2. Seperate contained with lid 3. Pour milk into cup 4. Put the cereal container back
Step 1: Shake the container. You heard it right. That's to "loosen the cereal" (quote).
Step 2: Remove the plastic lid. It turns out to be "cup-inside-a-cup" type arrangement here. The cereal is contained in the inside cup that comes with the lid; then you have a regular larger cup on the outside.
Step 3: Fill milk up to the marker. The marker was actually printed on the sleeve of the cup outside.
Step 4: Carefully (and yes, no swift "dunking" action here unless you want to splatter yourself with milk) place the inside cup with the lid back into the larger cup until you hear a click (that’s also important if you don’t want to pour milk down your shirt).
Step 5: Peel back foil and enjoy your Drink n' Crunch. There is like a little spout thing on the lid once you peel back the foil so when you tilt back the cup, you are basically getting nuggets of cereal coming out from the inner cup, while you get a sip of the milk from the outside cup.
How about that! The cereal doesn’t even get soggy!
